The 2024 Canadian Hysteroscopy and Simulation (CHyPS) Course Guest Speakers

 

Dr. Tony Carugno

 

Dr. Jose “Tony” Carugno is Board-Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and has fellowship training in Advanced Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Dr. Carugno completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Staten Island University Hospital and his fellowship training in Advanced Gynecologic Surgery at Florida Hospital in Orlando, Florida. He then joined the faculty of the Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences Department at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida, where he currently functions as the Chief of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Division.

Dr. Caitlin Jago

Dr. Caitlin Jago completed her AAGL MIGS fellowship at the Ottawa Hospital, where she also completed a concurrent fellowship in Simulation and Medical Education in 2021 through the University of Ottawa. She completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the University of Calgary, after finishing medical school and a Master’s of Science in Immunology at McMaster University.  Her research interests include psychosocial impacts of chronic pain and endometriosis, Simulation-Based Education, and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery in OBGYN. She currently practices at the Rockyview General Hospital and the Calgary Chronic Pain Centre in Calgary, Alberta.

 

Dr. Chelsie Warshafsky

Dr. Chelsie Warshafsky is a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. She completed an AAGL-accredited fellowship at the University of Ottawa, and a secondary fellowship in Medical Education and Simulation. Dr. Warshafsky’s academic focus is on increasing access to safe outpatient gynecologic procedures for patients and designed the first set of outpatient hysteroscopy safety simulation scenarios. She co-founded the inaugural Canadian Hysteroscopy Research and Simulation (ChyPS) course in 2022 and is thrilled to continue to grow this important program and improve access to hysteroscopy across Canada.
