Course Description
The Canadian Neuro-Ophthalmology Review Course is an interactive 2-day course that includes small group discussions and didactic teaching delivered by faculty including world-renowned neuro-ophthalmologists. All levels of learners are encouraged to attend, and Neurology and Ophthalmology residents in their senior years will benefit from the opportunity to consolidate neuro-ophthalmic knowledge in preparation for Royal College exams and clinical practice. The material closely follows the content of the American Academy of Ophthalmology – Neuro-Ophthalmology manual.
Overall Learning Objectives
By the end of the educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence and confidence in their approach to neuro-ophthalmic disease including history, exam, investigations, and management.
- Demonstrate the proper tools for approaches (including history and physical exam) to different cases in neuro - ophthalmology, list a differential diagnosis, identify the appropriate investigations, and demonstrate proper cost-effective management.
Accreditation
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 13.50 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
