What's New from the 2025 Hypertension Canada Guidelines?
Biography
Dr. Greg Hundemer is a staff nephrologist at the Ottawa Hospital, an Associate Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa, and a Scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He received his MD from Vanderbilt University (2007) and MPH from Johns Hopkins University (2011). He completed internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital (2012-15) and nephrology fellowship at the Harvard combined program (Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham & Women's Hospital; 2015-18). His clinical and research interests focus on overt and subclinical forms of aldosterone excess. His research has been supported by CIHR, NIH, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada. He has received New Investigator Awards from Hypertension Canada, the Canadian Society of Nephrology, the Kidney Foundation of Canada, CIHR, and the International Aldosterone Society. He also holds the Lorna Jocelyn Wood Chair for Kidney Research at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He serves as Co-Chair of the Hypertension Canada Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee and was the senior author for the 2025 Hypertension Canada Primary Care Guidelines.
