Overall Learning Objectives
By the end of the educational activity, participants will be able to: 

• Accurately diagnose knee injuries and recognize the features that will dictate surgical technique;
• Outline the alternatives for approaches to the treatment of challenging and controversial cases;
• Recall the current up to date techniques of the complex knee arthroplasty;
• Recognize common complications of knee surgery, primarily in effort to avoid them, and adjust technique to ensure the optimum patient outcomes;
• Identify the anatomy of the knee with the use of ultrasound and demonstrate its use for intraarticular and intratendinous insertion

Accreditation

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. Ultrasound Workshop: This event is an Accredited Simulation Activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 1,00 hour (credits are automatically calculated). 

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development for up to 12.50 Mainpro+ credits.
