- Assess the impact of federal activities on healthcare practices and patient access to MAiD, and understand how these changes may influence their roles and responsibilities within the healthcare system.

Biography
Jacquie Lemaire, B.Sc.H, M.H.A.
Jacquie Lemaire is a Senior Policy Advisor in the End-of-Life Care Unit, within the Strategic Policy Branch of Health Canada. The Unit is leading federal health policy development related to end-of life care issues, including medical assistance in dying (MAID) and palliative care. The Unit is responsible for implementing federal commitments related to medical assistance in dying legislation, including the development of regulations for the monitoring of medical assistance in dying. Over the past 25 years at Health Canada, Jacquie has participated in a number of federal policy activities related to MAID including legislative amendments through former Bills C-7 and C-39, regulatory development and amendments for MAID monitoring, and federal/provincial/territorial collaboration to support MAID implementation.
I do not have an affiliation (financial or otherwise) with a for-profit or not-for-profit organization.
I do not intend to make therapeutic recommendations for medications that have not received regulatory approval (i.e., “off-label” use of medications).
