Details
At the end of this session participants will be able to:
• Describe new and proposed legislation, with special attention to Quebec and Alberta.
• Analyze the implications for clinicians and others working in MAID when provincial legislation/proposed legislation conflicts with the federal Criminal Code.
• Explain the role of clinical standards and professional duties in the context of conflicting legislation.
• Compare how CMPA and CMQ have addressed these conflicts and identify lessons from Quebec clinicians
• Develop strategies for clinicians to communicate the impacts of divergent laws and collaborate with regulatory Colleges and Governments.
