By the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Identify the clinical manifestations of PMR 2. List a differential diagnosis for PMR • Order a relevant initial work-up for suspected PMR 3. Prescribe an appropriate prednisone taper for PMR 4. Identify the clinical manifestations of GCA 5. Order a relevant initial work-up for suspected GCA, including available diagnostic testing and request an urgent rheumatology referral 6. Prescribe an appropriate initial dose of prednisone for the treatment of suspected (or confirmed) GCA while awaiting rheumatology assessment 7. Monitor for the development of steroid-related adverse effects during the treatment of PMR or GCA
