Session Details
The simulation component provides participants with a high-fidelity environment to apply the technical skills learned in this surgical obstetrics course. These scenarios simulate real-world obstetrical emergencies, emphasizing not only advanced surgical techniques but also essential non-technical skills such as teamwork, collaboration, and closed-loop communication.
Each session is designed to replicate the pressures of an actual emergency, requiring participants to make rapid, evidence-based decisions while working effectively as a team. Following each scenario, a structured debriefing session led by a trained medical educator allows for self-reflection, collaborative discussion, and constructive feedback within a just culture framework. Simulation Structure:
•Total Duration: 2.5 hours
•Format: 2-3 high-fidelity simulation scenarios with debriefing
•Team Composition: Multidisciplinary teams (e.g., obstetricians, anesthetists, nurses)
•Facilitators: Trained medical educators and simulation specialists
