3. Discuss specific considerations for engaging in MAiD discussions with individuals who have experienced a stroke.
4. Examine the collaborative role of allied health team members in facilitating informed consent to support decision-making processes.

Dr. Wesley Edwards
Biography
Dr Wesley Edwards is an anesthesiologist at The Ottawa Hospital. He completed his medical training in Australia, specialist training in the United Kingdom and fellowship training in obstetric anesthesia in Canada. He is currently the Head of obstetric anesthesia at The General Campus. He has a Master of Public Health, with his non-clinical focus being maternal heath surveillance. He sits on national committees for the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada, advising on research and surveillance priorities for maternal and child health in Canada. He has been a MAiD assessor and provider for the Champlain Regional MAiD network before taking over the Medical Director role in October 2023.

Ms. Sara Olivier
Biography
Sara Olivier is the Advanced Practice Nurse and Program Manager for the Champlain Regional MAiD Network based out of The Ottawa Hospital. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Unviersite de Montreal and a Masters in Nursing from Athabasca University. She has been with TOH since 2016, and previously worked in Montreal where she specialized in cancer pain management. At TOH, she held various APN roles in chronic pain, substance use and palliative care before joining the MAiD team in January 2022.
