February 18-19, 2025 Canada/Europe
February 19-20, 2025 Australia/New Zealand

Registration COMING SOON!

Join us virtually!

The 3rd International CAPA conference will offer mental health teams that use – or are curious about – the CAPA model, a space to discuss ideas and practice experience in their work with children, youth, and families.  We recognize that the lived experiences of children, youth, and their caregivers are crucial to shaping meaningful discussions and learning.

We invite youth and caregivers to actively participate, as their insights will greatly enrich our shared journey. Together, we aim to build a supportive global community and advance excellence in mental health care.

What is CAPA?

CAPA is an approach to mental health care that focuses on the needs of youth and caregivers by understanding what’s important to them and creating services that are accessible, personalized, respectful, and inspiring to work within.

Who should attend?
This conference is for all care providers, youth and families, researchers, and leaders interested in collaborating and learning about the CAPA model, values, and fundamentals.

What can you expect?
Learning from each other is a chance to collaborate on working through challenges and sparking new ideas.  The conference will host participants from across the world and will have three different learning sessions each of the two days, intended to support “live” learning together while appreciating that we live in different hemispheres.

All sessions will be recorded, so you can watch topics you missed, or you can use the content to support your individual and team learning.

Don’t be confused by the different conference dates for the hemispheres – we will all be together; the dates just change depending on where you live.

Overall Learning Objectives
By the end of the conference, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize the key components of the Choice and Partnership Approach (CAPA) and its integration into Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Describe how the CAPA philosophy and principles can be flexibly applied in clinical care and service provision for children, youth, and families.
  • Describe how CAPA components can facilitate navigation of complex systems of care.
