The 2nd International CAPA conference will offer mental health teams that use – or are curious about – the CAPA model, a space to discuss ideas and practice experience in their work with children, youth, and families. The lived experience of children, youth, and their caregivers is essential to creating important conversations and we welcome their participation.
Through sharing and learning together, we hope to weave relationships and a sense of community across countries and organisations that will inspire and create global excellence in mental health care.
What is CAPA?
CAPA is an approach to mental health care that focuses on the needs of youth and caregivers by understanding what’s important to them and creating services that are accessible, personalized, respectful, and inspiring to work within.
Who should attend?
This conference is for all care providers, youth and families, researchers, and leaders interested in collaborating and learning about the CAPA model, values, and fundamentals.
What can you expect?
Learning from each other is a chance to collaborate on working through challenges and sparking new ideas. The conference will host participants from across the world and will have three different learning sessions each of the two days, intended to support “live” learning together while appreciating that we live in different hemispheres.
Day 2: Strengthening CAPA. We will build on the core features of CAPA and reflect on ideas about how to adapt CAPA to your team’s context. This will be a space to share lessons learned from the past two years to inform and regenerate in our work moving ahead in inspiring ways.
All sessions will be recorded, so you can watch topics you missed, or you can use the content to support your individual and team learning.
Don’t be confused by the different conference dates for the hemispheres – we will all be together; the dates just change depending on where you live.
Overall Learning Objectives
By the end of the conference, participants will be able to:
