The Canadian Dizziness Symposium 2025

May 5, 2025

Vancouver General Hospital

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Patients presenting with dizziness are challenging, whether this is acute or chronic, in the clinic or the emergency department. Dizzy patients are difficult to diagnose and manage for all clinicians, from primary care to specialists and other allied health professionals. This 1-day symposium will provide participants with a solid foundation of clinical knowledge and skills used to diagnose and treat patients with dizziness through a combination of didactic teaching, case-based learning, and clinical skills workshops.

OVERALL LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Describe a comprehensive approach to clinical diagnosis and management of patients presenting with acute and chronic dizziness
  2. Provide structured, expert-led workshops in key clinical examination techniques for diagnosing and managing patients with dizziness, including positional testing/treatment, and the head-impulse test

ACCREDITATION

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 6.25 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
