COURSE DESCRIPTION

This two-day academic conference is designed to provide family physicians and healthcare professionals with comprehensive, evidence-informed updates on the evolving landscape of mature women’s health. Through expert-led lectures, case-based discussions, and interdisciplinary dialogue, participants will explore current best practices and emerging research relevant to the prevention, diagnosis, and management of health concerns in women during midlife and beyond

 

OVERALL LEARNING OBJECTIVES

By the end of the conference, participants will be able to:

  • Integrate current evidence-based guidelines into the prevention, diagnosis, and management of common health conditions affecting women in midlife.
  • Apply up-to-date knowledge of hormonal and non-hormonal therapies to optimize the management of menopausal symptoms and related health issues.
  • Recognize and address the unique physical, mental, and social health needs of mature women, including cardiovascular, metabolic, bone, cognitive, and sexual health.
  • Critically appraise emerging research and evolving clinical practices to inform patient-centered, evidence-based care.

 

ACCREDITATION

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 10.50 hours (credits are automatically calculated).

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development for up to 10.50 Mainpro+ credits.

Up to 4.00 Mainpro+ credits may be claimed as Certified Assessment Credits (available for select sessions only).
