Webinar - Tips for virtual care visits

Course description:  The rapid shift to virtual care encounters has left little time for reflection on the benefits and pitfalls, and secondly the impact on medical education.  This session will address challenges of virtual care visits and strategies to ensure quality and safety are addressed. This session will specifically focus on virtual care delivered through telephone or the EPIC/ZOOM platform used at The Ottawa Hospital / CHEO, though some of the concepts are more generally applicable.

Learning objectives:

·                     Optimize virtual care visits for efficiency and thoroughness
·                     Leverage virtual care for learning / educational opportunities
·                     Provide practical tips for troubleshooting during a virtual care encounter
·                     Recognize limitations of virtual care


 This session has been pre-approved for the Teaching Skills Attainment Award.

 
Accreditation:
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada for 1.5 hours. This program has been reviewed and approved by the University of Ottawa, Office of Continuing Professional Development.  This Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development for up to 1.5 Mainpro+ credits.
