Faculty of Medicine’s NFT Design contest

Play a part in driving innovation at the Faculty of Medicine by submitting a contest entry to the faculty’s NFT Design Contest.

Your Mission: Create digital artwork inspired by the theme “Leading Innovation for a Healthier World.”

The Faculty of Medicine is launching an (non-fungible token) NFT design contest to mint the faculty’s very first, official NFT to engage our community and stakeholders in new and innovative ways. We are calling upon all artists, crypto enthusiasts, and designers to create digital artwork.

Contest closes: Wednesday August 31st, 2022, at 11:59pm EDT

Screening:

After an initial screening of all entries, 3 semi-finalists will be submitted to the faculty’s executive leadership committee for final voting. The winning designer will be contacted directly with further instructions.

The prize:

·         The creator of the winning design will have their artwork minted as the very first, official NFT within the Faculty of Medicine community.

·         The winner will be invited as a VIP guest to the Faculty of Medicine Gala for the unveiling of the winning NFT.[1]

 

Application criteria and requirements

·         Submission:

§  To submit your contest entry please complete this Form or send your entry to ehamelin@uottawa.ca by Wednesday August 31st, 2022, at 23:59 EDT

§  Submissions may include video and audio (MP4), Image (PNG), 3D models (GLB), etc...

§  We will invite the winning artist to provide a physical rendition of the digital work submitted

·         Description. Include in your submission, a description of your work and how it embodies the theme; “Leading Innovation for a Healthier World”. (Maximum 1000 words)

·         Declaration. You must declare that your submission is your work and that you have not used any copyrighted or unauthorized materials. Plagiarism will not be accepted.

·         Selection. 3 semi-final designs will be submitted to the faculty’s executive leadership committee for final voting to declare the winner.

Copyright Infringement:

Works submitted must be 100% original. If using any elements of a pre-existing design, permission from the original creator must be included. Documentary evidence must be provided with the competition entry to confirm prior approval to use any 3rd party copyright.

Contest Entry:

Entry is free. By entering the contest, you are assigning the rights of your artwork to the faculty of medicine’s NFT community and will have the option of donating any proceeds resulting from any sales of the NFT, to the faculty. If you are the winning artist, the faculty maintains the right to use your work for marketing and promotional purposes. 

Marketing materials:

The faculty will look to create marketing materials to support this design competition, including marketing on social media. For editorial compliance, the faculty reserves the right to edit, alter, or reformat your entry as necessary.

Each person who registers to attend the Faculty of Medicine’s Awards and Recognition Gala will have the chance to win the faculty’s inaugural NFT.
