Update in Anticoagulation for Atrial Fibrillation

Biography

David Nelson is currently a PGY-5 Adult Cardiology Resident at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He obtained his Royal College certification in Internal Medicine as well as his medical degree (MD) from the University of Manitoba. David's research and career interests are rooted in heart rhythm disorders; he is currently involved in research studies on dexmedetomidine in ventricular electrical storm, resynchronization therapy in cardiac sarcoidosis, and cardiac CT-guided cardioversion for patients with new atrial fibrillation in the emergency department. He is also the University of Ottawa Core Internal Medicine ECG Curriculum Lead Resident. He will be pursuing a fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
