Dr. Harinder Dhaliwal is a gastroenterologist and interventional endoscopist with expertise in advanced therapeutic endoscopy. He received his medical degree from the University of British Columbia and completed his training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, followed by an advanced fellowship in Interventional Endoscopy at the University of Ottawa, with a focus on pancreatobiliary disease, Barrett’s esophagus, and gastrointestinal cancer.

Dr. Dhaliwal is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and helped establish the Interventional Endoscopy Fellowship at The Ottawa Hospital. He has played an important role in developing the hospital’s advanced endoscopy program and has trained numerous gastroenterologists and advanced endoscopists who now practise and teach across Canada. He is actively involved in medical education and lectures nationally and internationally on advanced endoscopic techniques and the management of complex gastrointestinal disease.

His clinical and academic interests include pancreatic and biliary disorders, Barrett’s esophagus, gastrointestinal cancers, and minimally invasive endoscopic therapies. He performs complex ERCP and EUS, including advanced EUS-guided interventions, as well as endoscopic resection, enteral stenting, and other therapeutic procedures.

Dr. Dhaliwal is committed to high-quality, patient-centred care and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide individualized treatment for patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions. He also has a particular interest in technological innovation and the continued evolution of therapeutic endoscopy.
