Objectives:
i. Identify the unique challenges faced by new and rural MAiD practitioners, and analyze how these challenges impact patient care and provider experiences.
ii. Apply advice and recommendations provided by panelists to integrate MAiD into practice and manage associated complexities.
iii. Discuss effective practices, strategies and resources used by care coordination teams and medical directors when leading and expanding MAiD care teams

Tammy Dyson is the Manager for the Medical Assistance in Dying program with Fraser Health in British Columbia, Canada and has been in this role since 2017. Tammy has worked in the field of end-of-life care in British Columbia and the California Bay Area for more than 25 years as both a Social Work clinician, consultant and educator.

Olivia Lee is a resident completing a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at McMaster University. She has trained with the Champlain Regional MAiD Network and Nova Scotia Health MAiD Program, with a special interest in complex assessments that involve mental health.

Biography
Proud graduate of the University of Toronto, Sheena has been a nurse for thirty- four (34) years and a Nurse Practitioner for ten (10) of those years. Sheena brings with her a wealth of clinical and leadership experience in Medicine, ICU, Emergency and Geriatrics as Register Nurse, Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist and now Nurse Practitioner. She currently works as a Nurse Practitioner for Ontario Health at Home providing acute, episodic care for Long Term Care residents, preventing the need for Emergency Department transfer. Sheena has been a MAID assessor since 2016 and is a recent MAID provider.
