COURSE DESCRIPTION
The University of Ottawa, Office of Continuing Professional Development and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute are proud to offer this 1-day course in Cardiology for primary care physicians and specialists in cardiovascular medicine. This course serves as a refresher of current guidelines and standards for the work-up and management of common cardiac presentations as well as an update on the latest innovations in cardiology. This is a must attend event for primary care physicians and specialists in cardiovascular medicine.
OVERALL LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the educational activity, participants will be able to:
- Review and integrate newly published data and guidelines that affect how cardiovascular care should be delivered.
- Describe and evaluate pathways for testing and management of cardiovascular conditions.
- Describe ways to improve primary care referral practices and patient outcomes.
ACCREDITATION
This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 5.50 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development for up to 5.50 Mainpro+ credits.
