Dr. Marcos Sampaio

Dr. Marcos Loreto Sampaio is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Ottawa with cross-appointment in the Orthopedic Surgery Division, and a Clinician Investigator at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. He has also been a part of the MSK radiology team at The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) since 2009 and practices both MSK diagnostic imaging and procedures. He is the former MSK radiology fellowship director, MSK residency supervisor, X-rays modality lead of the department and Radiation Protection Officer.

Currently, he is the MSK section head and lead in MSK ultrasound. Dr. Sampaio has authored and co-authored articles and book chapters on MSK imaging and he is a reviewer for Radiology and Skeletal Radiology journals. He was also awarded as best clinical teacher by undergraduate students, radiology residents, and MSK radiology fellows in past years.

Dr. Dyan Flores

Dr. Dyan V. Flores completed her radiology training in Makati Medical Center in the Philippines, followed by fellowships in the USA, Philippines and Vancouver. She is an Assistant Professor at the University of Ottawa and works as a radiologist in the division of Musculoskeletal radiology in the Department of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital. Her clinical and academic interests include advanced image-guided interventions, sports imaging, joint biomechanics and hand and wrist injuries.

Dr. Flores is a member of the International Skeletal Society (ISS), Society of Skeletal Radiology (SSR), European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) and Radiologic Society of North America (RSNA).

Dr. Ramy Mansour

Dr Mansour is an associate professor at the University of Ottawa. He is the Royal College of Radiologists (RCR) Global Ambassador and the former RCR BSSR Travelling Professor 2019-2021. He worked previously at the Oxford University Hospitals and served as MSK imaging clinical lead. He is the ISS Outreach program regional coordinator for North Africa and the Middle East (MENA). Dr Mansour was the MSK team Lead of the European Diploma in Radiology (EDiR) from 2019 to 2023. He trained at Oxford University Hospitals and obtained the Royal College of Radiologist Fellowship (FRCR) in 2005. Dr Mansour finished a fellowship in musculoskeletal radiology at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre Oxford in 2006. He is an invited speaker in national and international conferences, and he delivered more than 500 lectures in countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas. He published articles and abstracts in the medical literature and regularly asked to peer review articles for national and international journals. He is a member of the British, European and Asian Musculoskeletal Societies and member of the Skeletal Society of Radiology (SSR) and International Skeletal Society (ISS). He is the winner of the RCR inaugural International Travelling Fellowship Award for 2017-19.



Dr. Kawan Rahkra

Dr. Kawan Rakhra is the former Head of the Musculoskeletal Imaging Section in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology of The Ottawa Hospital, and an associate professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Ottawa, with cross-appointment to the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery.

His clinical interests include MRI, sports medicine, hip impingement and advanced cartilage imaging techniques. Dr. Rakhra is actively involved in multimodality imaging based multidisciplinary research projects in collaboration with researchers from the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. He also has special interest in metrics based evaluation systems in the academic setting.



Dr. Taryn Hodgdon

Dr. Taryn Hodgdon completed her radiology training at the University of Ottawa in 2016, followed by a one-year clinical fellowship at The Ottawa Hospital in Musculoskeletal Imaging. She is an Assistant Professor and Residency co-program director at the University of Ottawa and works as a radiologist in the division of Musculoskeletal radiology in the Department of Medical Imaging at The Ottawa Hospital.

Dr. Ryan Foster

Dr. Ryan Foster is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Ottawa. He has published articles on image guided MSK interventions and gadolinium safety. He has presented at national and international conferences on topics of quality control in radiology, subtle osseous pelvic pathology and hamstring syndrome.  

Dr. Foster has been awarded an ARRS Certificate of Merit for his collaborative efforts on the electronic exhibit entitled “Extraspinal Causes of Sciatica”.

Jill Porter

Jill Porter is a musculoskeletal sonographer in the Department of Medical Imaging at the Ottawa Hospital. With 28 years experience since graduating from the Mohawk College Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, she has co-coordinated education days for the Ottawa Valley Medical

Sonographers and continues to enjoy mentoring students, new graduates and radiology residents.



Huyen Vuong

My name is Huyen, and I graduated from Mohawk College. I am a diagnostic medical sonographer at the Ottawa Hospital with over 20 years of experience. I am very passionate about musculoskeletal ultrasound and I’ve been learning this subspecialty from the best msk radiologists at TOH.  I have been privileged to be part of the shoulder research studies with the participation between the department of Orthopaedic and the msk radiology department at TOH.

Outside of work, I love to travel and hiking in different parts of the world. Recently, I took up pickleball and really enjoying the game.
