Through 6 short oral presentations followed by a 20-30 minute panel discussion, this session will provide a timely exploration of psychotropic prescribing in youth, offering lessons for clinicians, policymakers, and caregivers navigating the complex balance between access and safety.
Learning Objectives:
1. Analyse international trends in psychotropic prescribing among children and adolescents before and after COVID-19.
2. Evaluate how national audits, policy reforms, and clinical guidelines influence safe and effective prescribing.
3. Discuss systemic, cultural, and gender-related factors defining “appropriate use” of medication across countries.
4. Reflect on how evidence, clinical judgment, and system-level factors intersect in prescribing practice
