At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Critically evaluate current evidence on the relationship between social media use and adolescent mental health, including both risks and potential benefits.
2. Apply media literacy and analytic approaches to assess how online and mainstream media shape youth identity, behaviour, and wellbeing.
3. Identify and implement strategies to effectively support parents and caregivers in guiding young people’s digital engagement, informed by research and practical tools.
4. Integrate insights from interdisciplinary perspectives on how digital culture shapes adolescent wellbeing, reflecting on clinical, educational, and parental roles in fostering confidence and effective responses to social media–related challenges.
