Jonathan Reggler qualified in medicine at the University of Cambridge in 1984. After a stint in the British Army as a medical officer and 11 years of civilian practice in the UK he immigrated to Canada in 2003 and practised as a family physician in the Comox Valley until 2025. He now provides MAiD assessments and provisions in the Valley and in less well-served parts of Vancouver Island. In 2016 he and Dr. Tanja Daws wrote the "Medical Assistance in Dying Protocols and Procedures Handbook", the first Canadian publication to instruct practitioners on the practicalities of MAiD provision.
