Biography
Andrea Frolic, PHD
Andrea is the Director of the Program for Ethics and Care Ecologies (PEaCE) at Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS). Over her twenty-five year career in healthcare, Andrea has directed the HHS Clinical & Organizational Ethics Program, created a Regional Ethics Network for the Hamilton region (www.regionalethicsnetwork.ca ), managed a Psycho-spiritual Care program, and developed a Resilience Integration team to address the occupational stress of healthcare workers. In 2016 Andrea co-designed a multidisciplinary Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) team to serve patients in hospital and community, called the Assisted Dying Resource and Assessment Service (ADRAS). Andrea has conducted qualitative research on the experiences of MAiD families and MAiD assessors/providers, and participated in the creation and evaluation of the Canadian MAiD Curriculum project in collaboration with the Canadian Association of MAiD Assessors and Providers (CAMAP) and Health Canada (camapcanada.ca/curriculum). Andrea is a faculty member at both McMaster University’s Department of Family Medicine and Dalhousie University’s Department of Bioethics. Her current research interests include: MAiD; healthcare worker well-being; trauma-informed care; ethics practice and professionalization; and narrative ethics.

Biography
Tim Holland is the Head of the Bioethics Department at Dalhousie University. He is also a family physician who began providing MAiD shortly after it became legal in 2016.
