Meet the Speakers

Dr. Jackie F. Steele (PhD, uOttawa) is a trilingual law and politics scholar, strategist, and entrepreneur specializing in intersectional innovation, ethical AI, legal tech, and diverse workforce data. A former University of Tokyo professor, UN advisor, and Amazon Japan’s first senior DEI Business Partner, she is CEO of enjoi Innovation Inc. and enjoi Japan K.K., Adjunct Professor/Fellow at UBC, and Vice President of the Chambre de Commerce Francophone du Grand Vancouver. She is also a survivor of Japan’s 2011 triple disaster.  

Dr. Rayan Delbani is a palliative care physician at The Ottawa Hospital, she is also the EDI lead for her division. She is heavily invested in promoting Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the healthcare environment. 

Dr. Paul MacPherson is an infectious diseases physician at The Ottawa Hospital, a scientist at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute, and an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa. He is the first Clinical Research Chair in Gay Men’s Health at The Ottawa Hospital and the University of Ottawa.
